The setup is like you're outside in the Mediterranean

Apr 16, 2012 by Aria F.

We came here at 3pm on a Friday. Nobody was there but that made it even better. The setup is like you're outside in the Mediterranean. There is a fountain, hanging lights and furnaces. It's spectacular.
I had the steak wrap with fries. Both were amazing.
They are adding a wine list too so that should make it even better.
Will come back again

I'm still able to go home w/ my lady and have a sexy night ;)

They great for many reasons:
-First and foremost, they are healthy and tasty. That's a tough combo to get right.

-This cafe provides wonderful choices of wine! Also, it's a great ambiance for enjoying a glass w/ company or even just rolling up after work solo to enjoy a nice meal, glass of wine, and the best service in LA!

-I like how I feel after I eat here. I don't feel blotted and slow. I'm still able to go home w/ my lady and have a sexy night ;)

I'd definitely come here again!

Vacant area between two buildings turned into a nice, modern looking restaurant. For what it is, the place looks great. It's a small location, but the inside of the place looks bigger than it is though!

I went here for a work lunch, and though we were inside the restaurant, it still felt as if we were outside on that sunny day.

What we ordered:
Salmon wrap (wild salmon, mixed greens, red onion, tomato, charred citrus vinaigrette, whole wheat wrap) - tasty, added avocado, even tastier!
Turkey burger (house turkey blend, mixed greens, tomato, onion, fontina, lemon aioli, brioche bun) - was a decent size, not bad
Club (grilled chicken, fontina, mixed greens, tomato, bacon, avocado, lemon aioli, la baccia roll) - can't go wrong with chicken and avocado!
Wild salmon salad (wild salmon, mixed greens, avocado, charred citrus vinaigrette) - filet of salmon was perfectly (or close to perfectly) cooked. The salmon and the avocado were on top and not incorporated into the salad, which made presentation great.

More about the restaurant - it looks very simple, and that's great. The colors, though mainly uniform, worked. Their menu was very simple looking, but that worked as well. Their restroom looked great for such a small place, though you'd have to be taller than 5'1" to have a clearer view of the mirror.

I'd definitely come here again, though I would have to pay for my own meal the next time. :P Most of the items run from $10 - $13, but the "off the grill" items are closer to $20. It's a bit more than what I usually pay for lunch and such, but trust me... the stuff here is way better than say... some restaurants that charge at least $15 per dish (*cough* some of my other reviews *cough).

Service was good, ambiance was nice, and staff was friendly. With such a great ambiance, I kind of hope for more space so a full bar could be installed. ;P

Everything about the atmosphere, food and customer service was perfect!

Close your eyes and imagine the perfect Kabob.

Close your eyes and imagine the perfect Kabob. The two owners circulate, greeting the guests and making sure everyone feels at home. In fact, I know their names (Sevak and Ara) because they came to our table - with a warmth and kindness not typically felt in Los Angeles - and introduced themselves. The room is modern yet comfortable. The food is of the highest quality and you can tell. I have never had filet kabob that was this tender, juicy and flavorful. I will probably be back within the next week to get my meat on... plenty of veggie dishes, and their side of vegetables is seasoned in a way that actually makes you want to eat them... the prices are medium-low, so you don't have to worry about a big bill. I am not sure if I love this place more because of the owners, location, ambiance, or the food - all of them get high high scores. There is parking in the back, so it's easy in-and-out. If you like mediterranean food, then this place is not to be missed. On your drive home you will be licking your chops and thinking about your next visit.

Wonderful Surprise

Wonderful Surprise. My wife and stumbled upon Layla Cafe last weekend. It's a welcomed addition to a stretch of Wilshire that needs more great dining spots. - The food was delicious - The meat was perfectly prepared - The service was great - The ambiance was surprisingly chic We tried several of their chicken dishes, the hummus and dinner salad. I can't wait to try everything on their menu. I'm sure we'll be loyal customers for a long time to come.

I absolutely loved this place. The help is incredibly friendly and they brought us complimentary appetizers, I used to think only girls got that kind of special treatment. The food was incredible and atmosphere was very relaxing. I can't wait to go back!
